Playing around with long exposures and creating a kaleidoscope effect is really fun.
UCA DEGREE SHOW Private View OPEN TODAY! Head down to theFarnham Campus the rest of this week and next week and see my work along with everyone else’s fab work! #uca #gradshow #newhavenscuba #montage laurenelizabethashley.tumblr .com /www.laureneashley.com >< :D
My boyfriend, Nathan (nathanatkinson.tumblr.com) , is learning tricks and techniques in photography, and I was showing him how to use a long exposure effectively.
I did this as an example , to show him what can be done…and I really rather liked it! I’m not usually a fan of this style of imagery, however, I thought this looked quite pretty and stylish, so I had to upload it!!!
Moonlight on the Sea
Sitting on Bexhill’s seafront watching the sea move - it was gorgeous.
The air was so still, and the moonlight looked so delicate and pretty on the sea, I didn’t want to go home!
For preparation of the degree show my fellow students and I are hosting this year at Free Range, London this year called FOLKA, I am creating artist profile videos to publicise the work of the photographers involved.
It will be a good way of letting the audience see who is exhibiting whilst giving the audience an insight into the photographers themselves. It will also allow the audience to learn about each photographers practice before the exhibited work is seen first hand.
I am excited to see everyones work finally held in an official gallery space - showing it all to its full potential! Very excited.
Watch out closer for the artist profiles over the next few weeks to start seeing more of what the University for the Creative Arts, BA(Hons) Photography third years have to offer!!!

A week ago today, I finished my Resolution unit at University, that also being my final major project.
My brilliant boyfriend Nathan helped me with the set up, getting the frames on the wall - drilling the wall endlessly so the prints were straight! So a big thank you to you, Nathan!
A big thanks to Newhaven Scuba Centre for your help and participation in the project, it wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for you guys!
Head down to the exhibition when you can , it is running at the University for the Creative Arts , Farnham from the 24th May - 1st June and from the 20th June -24th June at Free Range , London in Brick Lane.
Again, big thanks to Newhaven Scuba and Nathan Atkinson for the help in completion of this project.

Gloomy skies ahead at Frensham Little Pond last week.
It was amazing how the weather changed so quickly , going from glorious sunshine to gail force winds and hail.
It was good fun though. It is so lovely down there.
Montage experiment .
Playing around with composition of layered imagery.
I have begun work on my website further and this is the outcome.
I am still working on it, so advice is much appreciated!!!
Another vogue cover I adore!
Business cards arrived today! I am really pleased with them :) it’s time to start distributing!!
This is a taster of what I am working on currently for my final project at University.
I have pixelated the words because I want to leave it a surprise until the exhibition in May at the University for the Creative Arts. But I thought I’d post a preview of what I’m working on.
I am looking at peoples perceptions of the sea, and how it makes them feel. Creating an uplifting project , based at Newhaven Scuba Centre in Newhaven, on the enjoyment one can feel by/in the sea!
Hopefully inspiring others, from inland towns and cities ,to come and enjoy the coast.
